We have been using RLLB1 for several years. They used to cost 2.50 per ball until recently. They now go for 4.50. This year we are upgrading to the RLLB ball, which is this one here. The balls are fine. The quality is not perfect. If you examine each ball, you would notice some of the stitching being uneven or thicker, and so forth. If you compare to an MLB game ball, the differences are fairly pronounced. But for a youth practice ball, it is a good one. The price is better than comparable Champro balls, and much better than the comparable Diamond brand ones. I tried finding Mizuno comparable construction balls, but can’t find any for sale in the US at all. Price-wise, these RLLB balls are the best quality vs. cost combination on the market presently (summer 2023). Note: do not confuse RLLB with RLLB1 or similar designations. The products are very different. Use the Rawlings website for details and comparison between models. Pricewise, the only thing you can find better/cheaper is PG unused tournament game balls sold by individuals on various online places. I assume these are stolen by PG umps and re-sold privately. But with shipping, the stolen PG balls come up to about the same as these, plus Amazon has some returns policy and price protection for wrong product being delivered. Again, all things considered, these are the best (albeit not cheap at all) practice leather balls on the market at present.

P.S. The leather feels a little slippery and plasticky to me. Not sure why. It is coated very low-grade leather like all other similar balls, but the coating must be some sort of extra sleek and I am not liking it a lot. But it is what it is.

Both of my grandsons, 12 & 14, play serious baseball and pitch. They were delighted with these for Christmas. Their Dad, my son who also played seriously, said “You can never have too many baseballs.” The fact they are tournament quality made them perfect.

Good ball overall but be aware of the seams.

If you have pitchers that like slightly raised seams, then this ball is for you. If your kids like higher seams then go with the MacGregor 76C which has seams as high as a Wilson A1010HS1 (super high seams).

Got this under 50 dollars for 12 balls. The leather cover seems a higher grade and soft.

These are great tournament grade balls if you need the LLB. Don’t get that plastic feel like some of the OLB3 balls do.
