I love cranium and the concept of being able to play a full game in less time is executed very well with this version. The problem is that I was very disappointed with the quality of the cards in this game. The game cards themselves were flimsy and liked to stick together, though still a great game, I was let down by the inferior card stock. Come on Cranium I want to be able to play this game more than a few times.

Girlfriend enjoyed it *too* much. Just kidding but she does ask to play it everyday

This game is so much fun!! There are 4 categories that you can play on 3 different board sizes, depending on how long you want to play. I played the original version, but the new categories in this are up to date and a lot of fun. The categories are: Data Head where you must decide if things are true or false, or other such ideas. There is Creative Cat, which is where you must draw with or without your eyes open, or even sculpt with the included “clay”. There is Word Play where the people on your team must take turns to spell a word backwards, for example, Mom says “o”, sister “g”, friend “n”, Mom “i”, sister “m”, friend “a”, Mom “l”, sister “f” to get the word “flamingo”. This is a real card by the way, so practice up!! Word play also has unscramble the words and fill in the blanks. The final category will have you humming or whistling a tune, playing charade like games, or impersonating famous folks. My best recommendation with this game is to have someone from all age groups or someone who is familiar with very current events on each team. I had to impersonate Victoria Beckham and Beyonce, while my sister hummed GnR’s Welcome to the Jungle, and my mother-in-law impersonated a back up dancer and zombie.

A super big plus is there is not a lot of rules and for confusing areas we just all settle on a way to play the game and can bend the rules as necessary or not. Totally fun game! Way worth the purchase!!

The Cranium game we received was used, full of hair, torn or damaged cards, stuck and dried playdoo full of plastic pieces. That’s a shame.
I had to give one star in order my review to be submitted, but I would have given a negative mark.

My friends and I are always on the lookout for fun board games, and Cranium is one of the best board games we have right now. We absolutely love it, especially as it combines many of our favorite games into 1. We especially love the blue cards which are the creative ones allowing the players to sketch and sculpt (with the clay that comes with the game). In addition, the cards are double sided, so you get twice as many cards as you think you are getting. It is pricy, but I absolutely love this game and I think it is well worth the money. It is also very family friendly which is great, as kids as well as adults can enjoy playing.

We absolutely love this game. At the moment it surpasses all other games when it comes to choosing and it provides many hours of fun in the evenings.

The only thing I think about the questions and topics is that they could be a little better thought out in many cases. Although not the case for all some are a little banal and some are just part of fleeting fashions. This will affect the long-term applicability of those questions.

My work-around now that I have the game already is to print labels with better questions and cover the old with them.

A note for non-American buyers of Cranium; it may be hard to find out that there is a UK version and both are fairly oriented towards their country. We would have preferred a UK set of questions and had we known it existed would not have bought the game here. The American version has some questions, topics and songs that only an American could possibly know.

I saw this at various retail stores for $25 and couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for a game a knew little about but seeing it for around $15 I figured I’d pick it up and give it a shot. Overall the game is definitely a fun time. We play in an 18+ age group and still enjoy the play-doh the most. It is a solid mix words, drawing, acting, sculpting, and trivia. The more players the merrier for this game. I would definitely recommend it you are looking for a new game, an escape from the standard board games.
